You will use the up arrow to stop the power bar at the position you want, then use the up arrow again when it is time to jump off the slope.
When you can perform the jumps smoothly, switch to Complete mode in Ski Jump DX and start competing. Use the left and right arrow keys to balance the jumper to gain more time in the air.
