Last Light – Survive the Zombie Apocalypse

Welcome to Last Light, a 2D zombie survival game where you must find your way out of an infested underground laboratory. You will face deadly attacks at night as the lights flicker out, with swarms of mutant monsters closing in and the surface world feeling impossibly far away. Explore seven dangerous floors, unlock restricted areas, upgrade your weapons, and build defenses before the next wave of enemies arrives. Can you survive long enough to see the light of day?

How to Play

In Last Light, your mission is to navigate through seven perilous floors to reach the surface. Use the daylight hours to scavenge for items and scout your path, then prepare for intense assaults by mutant monsters once night falls. Search through abandoned laboratories, workstations, and containers to find coins, useful supplies, and color-coded keycards. These keycards are essential for unlocking secure, restricted zones and accessing new sections of the facility.

Electricity is vital for operating automatic doors, hallway lights, and elevators. If you run too many systems simultaneously, you risk overloading the power grid and tripping the circuit breakers. The resulting alarms may attract monsters and trigger surprise attacks. Locate the switches in the basement to restore power before the situation spirals out of control.

Defending Against Attacks

Daytime is for preparation, but once night falls, swarms of mutated monsters will descend upon you. In Last Light, a solid defense system can be the difference between holding your ground and being overwhelmed by the enemy.

Push vending machines into narrow corridors to slow the enemy’s advance. Place automated turrets behind obstacles so they can continuously fire upon monsters as they are funneled into these tight passages. Choose your placements carefully to maximize damage and secure vital routes. Avoid wasting ammunition when you can still safely explore or reposition. Before midnight arrives, ensure your weapons are reloaded, gather supplies, and reinforce your defenses.

Upgrading Weapons and Enhancing Survival

Coins collected from containers and defeated monsters are a valuable resource in Last Light. Use them wisely to increase your chances of survival as you descend into deeper levels and face increasingly difficult challenges.

Invest in weapon damage and reload speed to eliminate enemies more efficiently. Consumables can boost your character’s stats, providing an edge during dangerous encounters. Furthermore, combat skills and weapon proficiency persist across playthroughs, giving you an advantage in subsequent attempts.

Choosing the Right Difficulty

Last Light offers three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. New players may want to start on Easy to familiarize themselves with the laboratory layout and learn how to manage the power system. If you want to test your survival skills at a higher level, choose "Hard" and see if you can manage your resources effectively under intense pressure.
