Gameplay
The most appealing aspect of Drunken Boxing lies in the way the character moves. Instead of walking steadily like a professional boxer, the character constantly leans, shakes, and changes direction. Fast punches can help you score points continuously, but each action consumes Energy Bars.
When energy is depleted, the fighter needs time to recover. This is an extremely dangerous moment because movement speed decreases and the opponent can easily take advantage of the gap. Therefore, continuous attacks are not always the best option.
Opponent Loses Balance
Sometimes the most effective way to win in Drunken Boxing isn't to rush in and punch immediately. Observe how your opponent moves, wait until they lose control or have just expended too much energy, then launch a counterattack. A well-timed punch can be far more effective than a series of continuous punches.
Game Modes
The 1-Player mode in Drunken Boxing puts you in a match against an AI-controlled opponent. This is a suitable option to familiarize yourself with movement, energy mechanics, and punch timing before moving on to more intense matches.
The 2-Player mode allows two people to participate on one device. Matches quickly become a hilarious competition as both try to control their constantly wobbling character.
